The world can be a ruthless and violent place. Turning on the news or reading world history is a quick reminder of this harsh reality. Still, what are God’s views on violence? In Jesus’ famous Sermon on the Mount, he told his listeners, “turn the other cheek.” Jesus did not want evil to be repaid with more evil.
